Setting up your profile
General information only. Not tax or financial advice. Consult a registered tax agent or BAS agent for your specific situation.
Before NetRide PRO can produce accurate income reports and BAS-ready records, it needs to know a few things about you and your vehicle. This guide walks through every section in Settings so you get it right on day one.
It takes about five minutes to complete. You can update any field later if your circumstances change — for example, when you add a second vehicle or update your GST status.
Before you start — have these ready
Vehicle registration details
Make, model, year, rego plate, and state of registration
Odometer reading
Current km reading from your dashboard or a recent service record
GST status
Whether you are registered for GST and your BAS lodgement frequency
Why profile setup matters
NetRide PRO uses your settings to do the heavy lifting: attributing kilometres to the correct vehicle, splitting income across the right platforms, and pre-filling your BAS worksheets each quarter.
Incomplete settings lead to inaccurate reports. It is much easier to fill everything in once, correctly, than to reconcile months of records later.
Step 1 — Open Settings
In the left sidebar, click the Settings gear icon. The Settings page is divided into collapsible sections — Profile Details, Work Platforms, Vehicle & Depreciation, Tax & Compliance, Billing & Plan, and Account.
Work through each relevant section top to bottom.
Step 2 — Fill in your Profile Details
The Profile Details section is open by default. Fill in:
- Full Name — your legal name as registered with the ATO
- Phone — used for account recovery only
- State / Territory — the state you primarily drive in
- Suburb — your home suburb, used for mileage calculations
- Postcode — your home postcode
When you are done, tap Save Profile. This button saves the Profile Details section only — each section on the Settings page saves independently.
Step 3 — Select your Work Platforms
Open the Work Platforms section and select each platform you drive for. NetRide PRO currently supports Uber, DiDi, and Uber Eats.
This does not connect NetRide PRO to your driver account. It simply tags your income entries with the correct platform so your earnings breakdown reports are accurate.
CSV imports
If you plan to import a CSV export from Uber or DiDi, the platform must be selected under Work Platforms first — otherwise the import wizard will not recognise the file format.
Step 4 — Add your vehicle under Vehicle & Depreciation
Open the Vehicle & Depreciation section and add your vehicle. You will be asked for:
- Make and model — e.g. Toyota RAV4
- Year of manufacture — e.g. 2026
- Registration plate — e.g. ABC123 (any Australian state)
- State of registration — QLD, NSW, VIC, etc.
- Odometer at your start date — read from your dashboard; used to calculate your business-use percentage at year end
The odometer figure at your start date is important. Record it as accurately as possible — a careful estimate is better than leaving it blank.
If you drive more than one vehicle for rideshare, you can add multiple vehicles. Each trip log entry will ask which vehicle was used.
Step 5 — Configure Tax & Compliance
Open the Tax & Compliance section. This is where NetRide PRO learns how to handle your GST and BAS records. You will see fields for your GST registration status, your BAS lodgement frequency (quarterly is standard for most drivers), and your logbook settings.
GST registration is mandatory for rideshare drivers
Under ATO rules, rideshare drivers must register for GST regardless of turnover — even if you earn under $75,000 per year. If you are new to rideshare, register with the ATO before your first trip. See our ABN & GST guide for a full explanation.
Step 6 — Review and you're done
Each section saves on its own — there is no single global save button. Once you have worked through Profile Details, Work Platforms, Vehicle & Depreciation, and Tax & Compliance, your settings are complete.
Head to the Dashboard — your year-to-date income widget and BAS countdown timer will now be active and pulling live data from your entries.
What to do next
With your settings complete, the next steps are to set up your trip logbook and import your first income records.
- The rideshare logbook guide — record your first trip and start building your business-use percentage
- ABN & GST guide — understand your GST obligations and when to lodge your first BAS
- All resources — browse guides covering expenses, platform income imports, and more
